What is an RDH?
An RDH is a Registered Dental Hygienist. This licensed professional offers preventative oral health care to his/her patients. They do this by detecting and treating diseases of the oral cavity and educating their patients on how to better care for their mouth and therefore their body.
To become an RDH requires completion of prerequisites prior to applying to an accredited dental hygiene program. After completion of a program a candidate must pass clinical and written board exams to obtain a license.
UDHA has compiled a list of accredited dental hygiene schools in Utah.
What is an ADHP?
The Advanced Dental Hygiene Practitioner (ADHP) is a mid-level oral health care provider who will address access to oral health care in underserved communities.
