2022 UDHA Day at the Capitol

This year's UDHA day at the Capitol was a huge success! Thank you for attending, supporting, and seeing what Utah has coming when it comes to dental and oral health. Having a voice and presence on a legislative level is so important for our patients and our profession, so attending meetings like this, learning about advocacy, and talking to legislators is so important.

During the event, we met together in the Hall of Governors to discuss what advocacy is and how important is it to stay involved for our profession. We also were lucky enough to hear from Representative Lowry Snow, who has been such a great advocate for dental hygiene in our state. We were able to connect attendees with other attendees that shared the same representatives, so they could go together and call out their Representatives or Senators together.

After chatting and connecting, we moved the group to the main area of the Rotunda to, of course, take a big group picture! We love how this photo grows each year, and each year we get more and more dental hygienists wearing purple and wanting to represent and speak up for dental hygiene in Utah.

After the photos, we were able to head over to the House and Senate to "call out" and chat with people in our communities. This is always so fun to talk about the importance of Oral Health, talk about what a dental hygienist is, and what's happening legislatively that may impact our patients or our profession.

Thank you to everyone who attended! Save the date for the 2023 Day at the Capitol- February 10, 2023 (may change).
