Celebrate National Children's Dental Month- February!

February is such a fun month because it's National Children's Dental Health Month. This is the perfect month to talk about oral health with your patients and communities, and here are plenty of fun and easy ways a dental office can celebrate while educating families about the importance of oral health. Here are some ideas:

In the Office

Decorate the Office – Use posters, balloons, and streamers with fun dental health themes. You could even have a coloring station with dental-themed pages for kids.

Give Out Educational Goodies – Provide kids with fun toothbrushes, stickers, and activity sheets about oral health. The ADA website often has free printable materials!

Photo Booth Fun – Set up a small photo booth with tooth fairy or superhero props. Encourage kids (and parents) to take a picture and tag the office on social media. Pediatric Dental Kits – Hand out goody bags with a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and a small booklet on brushing and flossing tips.

In the Community & Schools

Visit Local Schools & Daycares – Offer a short, engaging presentation on brushing and healthy snacks. You can even bring a large tooth model and a giant toothbrush for fun demonstrations.

Host a Storytime at the Library – Read dental-themed books and provide parents with tips on keeping kids’ teeth healthy.

Coloring Contest – Have kids color a tooth-friendly picture and display the artwork in your office. Offer a small prize for winners.

On Social Media & Online

Fun Educational Videos – Post short videos of the dental team demonstrating proper brushing, answering common kid-related dental questions, or reading a fun tooth-themed book.

Daily Tips & Challenges – Share daily oral health tips for parents, like “Skip the juice before bed” or “Try this fun brushing song!”
